To Sum it up!

Details...
  •  We will choose a cookbook each month and each choose a recipe from it. No need to all buy the cookbook if you don’t want it as part of your collection, the people that own it can just share it. And also the library has many cookbooks. Also, Pinterest may have a few recipes if you search the book name.

  • We will rotate hosting the club and have a pot luck and bring our cooked dish along with a beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

  • To avoid issues with dates and conflicts we agree that we will have a set day and time each month. Sometimes you’ll make and some you won’t which is totally fine! We decided on the third Sunday of each month from 2:00pm-5:00pm.

  • Communication regarding each meeting will be sent through Evite. We will respond with the dish we will make when we RSVP. But please don't hold off responding you can always update the dish at a later date.

How it all played out:
The Inaugural SSS meeting was awesome! Thank you again to Gemma for welcoming us into her beautiful home and hosting.
The cookbook club for women that love to cook and eat but do not necessarily love to collect cookbooks. We are breaking the rules ladies! I personally love to collect cookbooks, and so does fellow member Inga so maybe we will be able to convert a few of you guys. I received the cookbook as a Christmas gift and Gemma and I thought it would be a great first choice to launch our club. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The feedback was that the recipes were easy to follow and had ingredients that were easy to find. We also shared feedback for preserving expensive ingredients like ginger; Freeze it, soak it in vodkas and store as long as you like, chop it and freeze it. Thanks ladies, these things are great to know. I think we all enjoyed hearing tips, improvising options and lessons learned that we will be able to keep in mind if we choose to prepare the recipe ourselves.
Every single thing was delicious! I think it would be fun to choose a winner each month and the consensus seemed to be the lettuce wraps. Thanks Jill they were delicious! I’m sure every single one of us said we would make that one.
Maybe some of you are inclined to purchase the book but all the recipes we prepared are also listed on a separate post on this blog.

For next time:
So many leftovers! Please bring containers to take leftovers home next time.
Please bring any cookbook that you may have and think would be a great contender. We’ll look them over and decide.

A few details:
  • Please comment on the post "The Sisters" and add your contact info.
  • Details for the next meeting are in a separate post.
  • The recipes we prepared are listed in "Cravings" Recipes

Thanks again ladies. I love when a great idea comes to light. I look forward to creating many memories with all of you and bonding over the love of cooking, food and girl time.
