I own this book but I've never cooked from it. Jaimie took a tour of the United States and collected traditional regional recipies and then adapted them. I think we'll really enjoy it.

The Details:
Thank you Shauna for welcoming us into your beautiful home and hosting our April meeting.

I can always appreciate that sometimes there will be an ingredient that is just too pricey to use for the 1/3c or however much the recipe requests. This is when as a home-cook you make it work with something more economical. We never need to follow the recipe to a tee. Swap out turkey for pork, omit a protein all together, use a almonds in place of the more expensive pine nuts. Anything goes!

I have to add that I have made the couscous salad a few times since this meeting. Sometimes I add the tuna and sometimes I leave it out. Both variations are well received.

Shauna suggested we play a game to get to know each other better. We played "Two truths and one lie." It was fun and a great way to get everyone chatting and telling stories. We'll definitely have to play it again.

Looking Ahead:
We had leftovers for this one which was really nice. Don't forget your containers each meeting just in case!

Remember, all details of the meetings will be included in an Evite each month.

Thanks again ladies. I look forward to creating many memories with all of you and bonding over the love of cooking, food and girl time.
